The Avantango company consists of 6 musicians and 4 dancers, plus a
guest singer. It also performs in smaller combinations. Led by bassist
Pablo Aslan, the group is made up of Argentine natives residing
in New
York.
The collective experience of the ensemble members encompasses
practically every successful tango project in the last decades.
From the
Broadway hit "Tango Argentino" and "Forever
Tango" to the tango
projects of Yo-Yo Ma, Julio Iglesias, and Shakira, to the
award-winning
film "Tango",
Avantango artists have been there.
Here, at last, is a vibrant collaboration of
musicians, dancers, poets,
singers, composers, and choreographers committed to Tango
as a
meaningful expression of our times.
