OSCAR FELDMAN, saxaphones & flute
Born
in Argentina, Oscar performed with renowned composer and bandoneonist
Dino Saluzzi, and performed and recorded in Brazil and Argentina
with the Brazilian harmonica virtuoso Mauricio Einhorn.
He
joined as a lead alto the United Nations Orchestra founded
by the legendary Dizzy Gillespie, conducted by Paquito DRivera,
touring the US and Europe.
Oscar
recorded two albums with a Big Band conducted by Paquito DRivera.
"Tropicana Nights", which received a Latin Grammy
Award 2000 for "Best Latin Jazz Album", dedicated
to the legendary Cuban Tropicana
Club, and another album in tribute to the Cuban trumpeter
Mario Bauza, "Rudy Calzado & the Cubarama."
He
recently recorded the album "The Grande Passion"
with guitar legend Al Dimeola. He has also recorded with Gato
Barbieri, Claudio Roditti, and Alex Acuña.
Oscar
won the Outstanding Performance Award as the Best Soloist
in fusion in Buenos Aires, and a Berklee Achievement Scholarship
Award in 1992.
